We were thinking about just getting some roses and daisies and things... but we ended up making little bouquets for everyone with their names tied on them... about 40 people in all. It took us about 8 hours to do everything; but it just seemed like if we were going to do it, it should be perfect. And it was!
Some pics.
All laid on the casket haphazardly... gorgeous, huh? It helped to have something gorgeous to get us through the day. And the Round Rock donuts we picked up (because Papa used to bring them to us every Saturday morning we stayed at his house) didn't hurt either.

It looks gorgeous!! That was a great idea! What a special way to let everyone get involved. And the service was so perfect! What a great celebration of a life well lived! XOXO
SUCH a neat idea, liz! i was thinking about you this weekend... heard it was a lovely service. thank goodness for blogs so i can know that in the midst of it all, you were wearing two different shoes :)
I am sad that I couldn't go to the service. Mom said it was beautiful and very honoring to him.
That's beautiful. I love that idea.
