Funeral Flowers

My grandmother, Moyce, and my mom asked Kate and I to get some individual flowers for everyone to put on Papa's coffin.  This all sounds a little deep, and possibly morbid, to talk about on a blog... but I just want you to see what we ended up with!

We were thinking about just getting some roses and daisies and things... but we ended up making little bouquets for everyone with their names tied on them... about 40 people in all. It took us about 8 hours to do everything; but it just seemed like if we were going to do it, it should be perfect.  And it was!

Some pics.

All laid on the casket haphazardly... gorgeous, huh?  It helped to have something gorgeous to get us through the day.  And the Round Rock donuts we picked up (because Papa used to bring them to us every Saturday morning we stayed at his house) didn't hurt either.

I am sad that I couldn't go to the service. Mom said it was beautiful and very honoring to him.
