THE AFTER.

I'm currently sitting on my bed (which I've made EVERY day since two Tuesdays ago... which is a streak and accomplishment for me) looking at my VERY clean room and loving it.  If you look at these pictures and go "oh, that looks clean-ish, but isn't really that impressive"... you've never been into a dorm room, sorority house, condo, apartment, cubicle or house where I've resided for more than a week.  If you have, you will know the enormity of what I'm about to show you.

Bedroom!  You can see the floor!  (And I didn't even make the bed just for the picture.  It was already made!) No, the leg isn't back on the piano yet... one step at a time.  Plus, I'm going to make Daniel help with that since he helped in breaking the leg off in the first place.  :)

It's going to bother someone that my pillows are all jacked up in this pic... I'm not going to apologize.

I moved around all the lamps in the room plus added the one I got from my MIL for Christmas.  I definitely love my new lamp.  The shade looks mauve when the light is on.  Perfect contrast to the Aggie pic I have hanging  there.  (This used to be Daniel's side of the bed... we switched.)

Same room!  Less clutter!  Way, Way, WAY less clutter.

I moved around a bunch of books and got rid of some.  I also moved the antlers that were sticking out of the top shelf and hung them by Daniel's sink so he could put his towel over them.  (What has my life come to that there are antlers in my bathroom?!)

Remember the desk cabinet?!?!?  WHOOT!

Remember THIS area from before?  How you couldn't even see the countertop?

My new shower organizer.  We had everything just laid out on the "seat" (who would sit there anyways?!) and it got slimy and stuff.  I'm in love with this thing.

HALLELUJAH!  HAAAALLELUJAH!  Hallelujah!  Hallelujah!  Halleeeh-ey-lujah!  (Please stop and burst out singing that wherever you are right this minute).

I hung these 6 mirrors that came in a package for $20 at Target.  A regular mirror that size costs like $80!  I really like them.  (And yes, I even used a level and a ruler to get them up there.)

I have so much more cute jewelry than I remembered!

SEE?!

I know you didn't see a good "before" of the closet... but this is where it all began.  That clothes rod (and all those clothes plus about 100 more) were on the floor for about 3 months.

I didn't do much here, but I did clean out some glasses and move around some trays and cutting boards and things to make it more functional.

Again, this doesn't look like much.  But it's clean.

Junk Drawer!  JUNK, BE GONE!

I didn't have a "before" of this either, but this is cuter.  Plus, I hung that picture that my great Aunt painted.  She also painted the pic in this room.

Cookbooks... I definitely should have taken a "before" of this one.  You don't even wanna know...

Hey!  Remember THIS Christmas??  Some of these were the Nambe dishes my dad gave me that year.  If you haven't read of heard the story, it may be worth a few minutes of your time.

OK... sorry that was long, but you asked for pics and you got 'em!  I'm slowly, but surely, working on the kitchen and other things around the house.  I'll keep posting as I go.  Let me know what you think!  :)

I could kiss you right now. I just called my doctor and cancelled my appointment for my tetanus shot. I won't even need it anymore.

I'm so impressed!! And yes, I do remember being up to my knees in your dirty clothes at Midtown. My birthday present to you that year was cleaning up your room! Reams & I literally had to wade through it. Some things never change... but it looks amazing! Cleaning the visible stuff is one thing, but the junk drawer?!? I mean you're not messing around.

Wow, seriously impressive! Amazing change and your house is gorgeous! It makes me want to clean my junk areas, but it seems so overwhelming. One thing at a time, I guess. Way to go, now the trick will be keeping it that way!

wow!! It looks amazing. How much time did that take?

Liz said...

All that took about 8-9 days. And not of like steady work... but at least 2 hours a day up to like 10 hours on a couple days. It was hard work, but worth it!! The house is still clean and I'm pressing on with the rest of the house... just at a slower rate.
